The past year has been a time of increasing momentum. We have worked hard to turn our vision of a contemporary dance company into reality. We are proud of our successes, including the move to our own studio and office spaces, the development of a subscription series, and the investment we make in our dancers as artists, the ones who bring our mission to life.
Verb Ballets has built a repertory of dances of the highest artistic quality, both to further the company’s artistic advancement and for the unstated purpose of making Northeast Ohio a national focal point for the arts. Verb has proven its strength in presenting a diverse range of works, from story ballets to pioneering modern classics to emerging choreographers – an array of works as varied as our audience.
Verb Ballets believes in education, and we nurture wellness through outreach performances. Verb’s outreach programming touches more than 6,000 students from eleven counties across Ohio. And we offer more than 50 specialized movement-therapy classes to under-served nursing homes in the Cleveland area. Our introduction of Dance For Everyone community evening classes attended by more than 125 dance enthusiasts was a resounding success.
These achievements were made possible through the dedication of Verb Ballets’ board and our staff, and the contribution of time and energy by our volunteers, who have supported us faithfully in the fulfillment of our mission. Verb Ballets relies on the generous support – both financial and volunteer – of individuals to make our operations possible, and now we appeal to you to support us in our artistic and community-building work through a very special campaign.
Verb Ballets’ board and members of our community have issued a challenge grant: a $1 for $1 matching grant, in effect doubling your donation to Verb Ballets.
