Verb Ballets is honored to participate in the Lamentation Variations project for the winter production at The Breen Center. The Martha Graham Dance Company has selected Verb Ballets to participate in this ongoing creative project to celebrate the 85th anniversary of Lamentation in 2015. The project will produce three distinctive variations on this American masterpiece choreographed by Antonio Brown, Chung Fu Chang and Ginger Thatcher. The works will premiere in Cleveland and the project will then culminate with the company performing one variation in New York City on a shared program with the Graham Company in the first half of 2016. Also on the program is the world premiere ballet by Richard Dickinson performed to live music played by pianist Zsolt Bognár. Bognár's performances in America, Europe, and Asia have been praised as "overwhelmingly visceral...a phenomenal sound world realized through maximum palette.”
